About this place
Situated along a road in Imazato, Nagaokakyo, Men'ya Ryusen is a ramen shop known for its deep, flavorful broths and varied menu. One of its mainstays, Ryusen, pairs a cloudy brown pork-bone soy sauce broth dotted with back fat with thin, straight noodles, topped with thinly sliced chashu, green onions, and bean sprouts. Portions range from small to extra-large, and diners can also order a full or half refill of noodles to tailor the bowl to their appetite.
From delicate noodles to hefty bowls
Alongside the signature tonkotsu shoyu, the shop offers a diverse lineup that includes the lighter Shina Soba, Kiwami Black Dashi featuring a dark, punchy soup and medium-thick noodles, and Cho-Ogon, a hearty Jiro-style bowl piled high with thick noodles and bean sprouts. For chashu ramen, diners can specify multiple tiers of sliced meat to drape across the bowl, making it a reliable pick when craving a particularly meat-heavy meal.
Set meals, sides, and an accommodating dining space
Hearty set meals pair noodle orders with gyoza, Japanese fried chicken (karaage), deep-fried shumai, or a mini pork plate, complemented by fried rice options ranging from small to mega. Inside, the shop provides both counter and table seating, accommodating solo diners stopping in for a quick lunch as comfortably as visiting families. High chairs and children's tableware are available, and a dedicated free parking lot nearby makes visiting convenient for drivers.
